Regular Season Round 3: Raad - Petrochimi 51-89

Date: November 11, 2019
Raad (0-3) was outscored at home by Petrochimi (3-0) with the biggest margin this round 89-51. Petrochimi dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Raad's 16. Petrochimi forced 21 Raad turnovers and outrebounded them 43-26 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Raad's players. It was a good game for the former international point guard Sajjad Mashayekhi (180-94) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. International Mohammad Hassanzadeh (203-90) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Petrochimi players scored in double figures. The former international center Ebrahim Beigi (211-94) answered with 8 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Shayan Pourkavehdehkordi (184-98) added 13 points in the effort for Raad. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Petrochimi's next round opponent will be Zob Ahan (#7) in Esfahan which should be theoretically another easy game. Raad will play on the road against Gorgan (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
