An interesting game for Heat (7-3) which played road game in Detroit against 4th ranked Pistons (4-8). First ranked Heat managed to get a 9-point victory 117-108. Heat made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists. Swingman Jimmy Butler (201-89, college: Marquette) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 assists to lead the effort and Bam Adebayo (208-97, college: Kentucky) supported him with 18 points and 14 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Even 22 points and 5 assists by guard Luke Kennard (196-96, college: Duke) did not help to save the game for Pistons. Center Andre Drummond (208-93, college: Connecticut) added 16 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Five Heat and four Pistons players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Heat maintains first position with 7-3 record, which they share with 6 other teams. Pistons lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost.
