Regular Season Round 7: Skallagrimur - Hamar 89-104

Undefeated leader Hamar delivered the seventh consecutive victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Skallagrimur (1-5) 104-89 in Borganes. Skallagrimur was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 55-39 second half run of Hamar. They made 19-of-21 charity shots (90.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Skallagrimur turnovers. Strangely Skallagrimur outrebounded Hamar 37-22 including 27 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Everage Richardson (191-85, college: Coastal) who helped to win the game recording 39 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Croatian point guard Toni Jelenkovic (180-97) contributed with 20 points, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American center Kenneth Simms (206-86, college: Cumberland, agency: Interperformances) answered with a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists and Kristofer Gislason (195-96) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Skallagrimur. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Skallagrimur's coach tested eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hamar (7-0) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row. Skallagrimur at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with FSU. Hamar will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Skallagrimur will play on the road against the league's second-placed Hottur (#2) in Egilsstadir to get more than just one victory in their record.
