Regular Season Round 27: Cimarrones - Piratas 78-63

The game between third ranked Piratas (11-10) and seventh ranked Cimarrones (8-15) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. Piratas were defeated by Cimarrones in Quibdo-Choco 78-63. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Piratas. Cimarrones forced 19 Piratas turnovers and had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan center Miguel Bolivar (205-92) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 20 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The former international forward Cesar Ordonez (196-82) chipped in 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Cimarrones players scored in double figures. Cimarrones' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Alvaro Munoz who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and Venezuelan point guard Edwin Mijares (186-92) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively. Cimarrones maintains seventh place with 8-15 record. Piratas at the other side keep the third position with ten games lost. Cimarrones are again looking forward to face higher ranked Piratas (#3) in Bogota in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Piratas will have a break next round.
