Regular Season Round 22: Angeles - Aaguacateros 76-107

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Aaguacateros (15-7) crushed 9th ranked Angeles (1-21) in Puebla 107-76 on Thursday. Aaguacateros dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Angeles' 48 and made 19-of-20 free shots (95.0 percent) during the game. Aaguacateros looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a very good performance for American guard Donald Sims (185-87, college: Appalachian St., agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. The other American import swingman Rodney Green (196-88, college: La Salle) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Five Aaguacateros players scored in double figures. Puerto Rican Jeff Burgos replied with 18 points and 7 rebounds and American forward William Green (201-91, college: Stetson) added 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Angeles. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aaguacateros moved-up to second place. Angeles lost fifteenth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 21 games lost. Aaguacateros will face league's leader Soles in Mexicali in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Angeles will play on the road against Capitanes (#3) in Mexico and hope to win that game.
