Everything could happen in Aldeota at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Sao Jose and 15th ranked SKY/Basquete had identical 1-6 record. But SKY/Basquete was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Sao Jose 81-77 on Thursday night. SKY/Basquete was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Argentinian point guard Diego Figueredo (185-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Center Rafael Rodrigues (213-87) contributed with 22 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Sao Jose players scored in double figures. American swingman Brandon Davis (198-88, college: Lamar, agency: Pro Sports) replied with 15 points and guard Caue Freitas (192-88) added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for SKY/Basquete. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Sao Jose went down to thirteenth position due to points difference, which they share with Rio Claro. SKY/Basquete lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with seven games lost. Sao Jose will face bottom-ranked Pato Basquete (#16) in the next round. SKY/Basquete will play against Paulistano and will have a slim chance for a victory.
