Regular Season Round 9: Caceres - Almansa 76-68

Very predictable result when tenth ranked Caceres Basket (5-4) won against at home 16th ranked Almansa (2-7) 76-68. Caceres Basket made 27-of-32 charity shots (84.4 percent) during the game. Montenegrin guard Nikola Rakocevic (191-91) stepped up and scored 22 points and 7 rebounds (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners and point guard Ricardo Uriz (188-80) chipped in 14 points. The best for the losing side was Serbian Nikola Cvetinovic (203-88, college: Akron) with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Portuguese point guard Miguel Cardoso (188-93) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Caceres Basket moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Almansa keeps the sixteenth position with seven games lost. Caceres Basket will play against Castello (#12) in Castellon in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Almansa will play at home against CB Granada (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
