Regular Season Round 9: Godella - Castello 2 69-75

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Castello II (6-1) beat 5th ranked Godella (2-5) in Valencia 75-69 on Saturday. Castello II forced 21 Godella turnovers and outrebounded them 48-37 including 17 on the offensive glass. Godella was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for naturalized Angolan forward Julio De-Assis (203-92, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Joel Sabate (191-99) contributed with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Castello II players scored in double figures. Pablo Bono (185-98) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Borja Garcia (190-96) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Godella. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Castello II. They keep a position of Group E-A leader, which they share with Lliria. Godella lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifth place with five games lost. Castello II will face league's second-placed Lliria on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Godella will play against Picken Claret in Leioa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
