Regular Season Round 9: Cassino - Corato 70-87

Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Cassino (1-8) lost at home to eleventh ranked Corato (4-4) 87-70 on Saturday. It was a good game for guard Daniele Grilli (190-87) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 6 assists. Power forward Luigi Brunetti (205-88) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Corato players scored in double figures. Power forward Alessandro Cecchetti (200-91) answered with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Riccardo Rovere (197-94) added 14 points in the effort for Cassino. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Corato moved-up to seventh place in B, which they share with Omnia Basket. Loser Cassino keeps the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Corato will face Formia Meta (#13) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cassino will play against Avellino and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
