Very expected game when 11th ranked Polonia Bytom (1-7) was defeated at home by leader Wisla Krakow (8-0) 79-75 on Saturday. Jan Rerak (198-97) stepped up and scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and power forward Maciej Maj (200-88) chipped in 9 points and 14 rebounds. Wisla Krakow's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Emil Podkowinski (194-88) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Norbert Kujon (194-92) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Polonia Bytom players scored in double figures. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Wisla Krakow. They maintain first place in Group C with 8-0 record. Loser Polonia Bytom keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. Wisla Krakow will face Jaworzno (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Polonia Bytom will play against AZS PCz in Czestochowa and hope to win that game.
