Regular Season Round 9: Carbajosa - Chantada 75-59

Everything went according to plan when leader Carbajosa (7-0) defeated at home 6th ranked Chantada (4-3) 75-59 on Saturday. It was a good game for Bahamas forward Willis Mackey (203-96, college: UNOH, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Point guard Arturo Cruz (184-93, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Carbajosa players scored in double figures. Point guard Martin Rodriguez (182-96) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Montenegrin center Filip Knezevic (205-94) added 6 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Chantada. Chantada's coach Alberto Fafian rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Carbajosa. They maintain first place in Group A-B with 7-0 record. Loser Chantada dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Carbajosa will face bottom-ranked Leon (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chantada will play against Estudiantes L. (#12) in Lugo and hope to win that game.
