Regular Season Round 7: Mataro Parc - Ardoi 47-74

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Ardoi (7-3) crushed on the road 13th ranked Mataro Parc (3-7) 74-47 on Saturday. Ardoi dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Mataro Parc's 24 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for forward Beatriz Royo (176-91) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Argentinian center Diana Cabrera (184-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Ardoi's coach felt very confident using 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Center Marta Arbizu (187-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and Nuria Checa added 14 points in the effort for Mataro Parc. Ardoi moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with Gran Canaria and Lima-Horta. Mataro Parc lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. Ardoi will face Lima-Horta (#5) in Barcelona in the next round. Mataro Parc will play on the road against Picken Claret (#11) in Valencia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
