Regular Season Round 6: Tianjin - Zhejiang Ch. 94-105

Bottom-ranked Gold Lions (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 105-94 loss to fourteenth ranked Golden Bulls (2-3) in Tianjin on Saturday evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Golden Bulls made 7 blocks. American guard Marcus Denmon (191-90, college: Missouri, agency: BeoBasket) had a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Qian Wu (190-94) chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Chasson Randle (188-93, college: Stanford) with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and guard Deshaui Shi (192-92) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Five Golden Bulls and four Gold Lions players scored in double figures. Gold Lions' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Golden Bulls moved-up to thirteenth place. Loser Gold Lions still closes the standings with six games lost. Golden Bulls will meet at home higher ranked Flying Leopards (#10) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gold Lions will play against Blue Whales (#17) and hope to get finally their first victory.
