Regular Season Round 9: Matenglish - DKV San Fernando 53-82

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Matenglish (1-7) was outscored at home by first ranked DKV San Fernando (5-1) 82-53 on Saturday. It was a good game for Angel Canas-Balina (187-97) who led his team to a victory with 28 points. Jose Ruiz (200-97) contributed with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four DKV San Fernando players scored in double figures. Guard Jaime Macias (190-93) answered with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Iago Paz added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Matenglish. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for DKV San Fernando. They maintain first place in Group D-B with 5-1 record, which they share with ULB OH!TELS. Matenglish lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with seven games lost. DKV San Fernando will face Torta del Casar (#7) in Caceres in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Matenglish will play on the road against Adepla in Plasencia and hope to win that game.
