Regular Season Round 9: Pozuelo - Estudio 88-79

There was an upset when higher ranked Estudio (5-3) lost on the road to fifteenth ranked Pozuelo (3-6) 88-79 on Saturday. Estudio was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for guard Borja Lopez (187-93) who led his team to a victory with 22 points. Center Alejandro Cue (201-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Pozuelo players scored in double figures. Point guard Juan Llorente (192-93) answered with 18 points and forward Gabriel Rodriguez (199-90) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Estudio. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Pozuelo moved-up to eleventh place in Group B, which they share with Tenerife Naut. and Tobarra. Loser Estudio keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Pozuelo will face higher ranked Azuqueca (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Estudio will play against Aguimes and hope to win that game.
