Regular Season Round 6: Souffel - Antibes 73-53

Very expected game when 13th ranked Olympique Antibes (2-4) was rolled over on the road by third ranked Souffelweyersheim (5-1) 73-53 on Saturday. Souffelweyersheim outrebounded Olympique Antibes 45-31 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Souffelweyersheim made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was Jamaican forward Kentan Facey (206-93, college: Connecticut, agency: Inception Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks. Antony Labanca (192-94) chipped in 15 points and 7 assists. Four Souffelweyersheim players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American Tim Blue (204-84, college: MTSU) who recorded 14 points and 6 rebounds and Swedish Viktor Gaddefors (202-92) added 6 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Souffelweyersheim have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Blois and Denain. Loser Olympique Antibes keeps the thirteenth place with four games lost. Souffelweyersheim will face Aix-Maurienne (#12) in Aix-les-Bains in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Olympique Antibes will play at home against Nantes and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the Jeep ELITE ProA just one year after relegation.
