Regular Season Round 11: Baerum Basket - Tromso 81-80

The most exciting game of round 11 in the BLNO took place in Bekkestua. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Tromso (6-7) to third ranked Baerum Basket (9-2) 81-80 in the game for the third place. Baerum Basket outrebounded Tromso 39-28 including a 12-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Stian Mjos (183-89) who scored 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. International forward Sjur Berg (201-96, college: Alaska-Anch.) chipped in 6 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists. Baerum Basket's coach Matthias Eckhoff used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Cam Gregory (203-95, college: Loyola, MD) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Johannes Lange (179-98) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Four Tromso players scored in double figures. Baerum Basket maintains third place with 9-2 record having just two points less than leader Kongsberg. Tromso at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Baerum Basket are looking forward to face Nidaros Jets (#9) in Tromdheim in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Tromso will have a break next round.
