Regular Season Round 19: Shinshu BW - Sendai 89ers 61-63

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Shinshu BW (14-3) in Nagano on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by second ranked Sendai 89ers (13-6) 63-61. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Shinshu BW. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Keita Sawabe (184-95) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. American center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) answered with 25 points and 6 rebounds and guard Tatsuya Nishiyama (171-88) added 12 points and 6 assists in the effort for Shinshu BW. Shinshu BW's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Sendai 89ers maintains second place with 13-6 record having four points less than leader Gunma. Shinshu BW at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Sendai 89ers are looking forward to face Tokyo Z (#5) at home in the next round. Shinshu BW will play against Kumamoto V. (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
