Regular Season Round 9: JAC Sants - Cornella 73-72

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked JAC Sants (3-6) edged higher ranked Cornella (5-4) in Barcelona 73-72 on Sunday. It was a good game for swingman Pablo Beiran (191-92) who saved his team from a defeat with 8 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Sergi Tell (188-0) contributed with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. JAC Sants' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Xavi Guirao (190-87) answered with 26 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Sergio Guardia (188-88) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Cornella. JAC Sants moved-up to tenth place in Group C-B, which they share with Palma II. Loser Cornella keeps the fifth position with four games lost. JAC Sants will face higher ranked Mataro Feimat (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cornella will play against Badalones and hope to win that game.
