Regular Season Round 19: Aomori W. - Tokyo Z 69-80

There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Tokyo Z (6-13) beat on the road their close opponent Aomori W. (6-12) 80-69 on Sunday. Tokyo Z made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Tokyo Z outrebounded Aomori W. 37-20 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for American forward Kyle Casey (201-90, college: Harvard) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Kotaro Hisaoka (180-97) contributed with 22 points and 5 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) for the winners. Point guard Toshio Kan (184-94) answered with 9 points and 7 assists and South Sudanese forward Mogga Lado (201-95, college: Campbell, agency: Agency) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Aomori W.Aomori W.'s coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tokyo Z maintains fifth place with 6-13 record, which they share with Bambitious N. Loser Aomori W. keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. Tokyo Z will face league's second-placed Sendai 89ers on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aomori W. will play against Tokyo EX and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
