Regular Season Round 9: Mondragon - Nissan Burgos 75-69

Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Nissan Burgos (4-4) lost on the road to fourth ranked Mondragon (5-2) 75-69 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Mondragon forced 21 Nissan Burgos turnovers. It was a good game for American center Zach Kirschbaum (208-93, college: Trinity Intern.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Power forward Martin Buesa (204-88) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Mondragon players scored in double figures. British-Kittitian forward Kareem Queeley (193-1) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and guard Marc Garcia (186-1, agency: Best of You Sports) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Nissan Burgos. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Mondragon maintains fourth place in Group A-A with 5-2 record. Loser Nissan Burgos keeps the eighth position with four games lost. Mondragon will face Baskonia (#8) on the road in the next round. Nissan Burgos will play against Filipenses and hope to win that game.
