Regular Season Round 9: Almozara - Maristes Ademar 85-91

Very expected game when 11th ranked Almozara (2-7) lost at home to sixth ranked Maristes Ademar (5-4) 91-85 on Sunday. Strangely Almozara outrebounded Maristes Ademar 42-20 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a good game for guard Joaquim Franch (187-93) who led his team to a victory with 14 points and 6 assists. Equatorial Guinean Sergio Ndemensogo contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Hugo Cano (195-93) answered with 12 points and 7 rebounds and guard Carlos Jimeno (-98) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Almozara. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Almozara's coach Jose Carlos Herrero rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Maristes Ademar maintains sixth place in Group C-A with 5-4 record. Almozara lost their fourth game in a row. Almozara at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Maristes Ademar will face higher ranked Martinenc (#4) in Barcelona in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Almozara will play on the road against SESE (#5) in Barcelona and hope to win that game.
