Important game to mention about took place in Manila. Tenth ranked Rain or Shine (4-7) saved a 2-point victory at home edging second-best Meralco Bolts (8-3) 83-81 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the 98-game winning streak of Meralco Bolts. The winners were led by American forward Richard Ross (201-92, college: ODU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and guard Rey Nambatac (179-94) supported him with 24 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Even a double-double of 23 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists by American power forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) did not help to save the game for Meralco Bolts. Center Raymond Almazan (206-89) added 18 points and 19 rebounds. Four Meralco Bolts players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Rain or Shine moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Columbian Dyip. Meralco Bolts at the other side still keep top position with three games lost. They share it with TNT Ka Tropa and NLEX RW.
