Regular Season Round 8: Fortitudo AGR - Basket TO 92-91

A very interesting game took place in Agrigento. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Basket TO (5-3) to fifth ranked Fortitudo AGR (5-2) 92-91 on Sunday evening. Fortitudo AGR forced 19 Basket TO turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Christian James (193-96, college: Oklahoma) saved the victory by scoring 29 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Center Tony Easley (206-87, college: Murray St.) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Fortitudo AGR's coach Devis Cagnardi allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Kruize Pinkins (201-93, college: USF) replied with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Derrick Marks (190-93, college: Boise St.) added 24 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) in the effort for Basket TO. Four Basket TO players scored in double figures. Fortitudo AGR moved-up to third place in A2. Basket TO at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Fortitudo AGR's next round opponent will be Bergamo Bsk (#11) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Basket TO will play against SS Napoli (#10) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the Serie A just one year after relegation.
