We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Chiba J. (9-7) lost at home to sixth ranked Hokkaido L. (8-8) 81-76 on Sunday. Hokkaido L. made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Quite impressive performance for Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Kennedy Meeks (208-95, college: UNC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Hokkaido L.'s coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) replied with 19 points and 7 assists and American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Chiba J.Four Chiba J. players scored in double figures. Hokkaido L. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kyoto H. Loser Chiba J. dropped to the third position with seven games lost. Hokkaido L. will face San-en NeoPhoenix (#6) in Hamamatsu in the next round. Chiba J. will play on the road against Toyama G. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
