NBL top team - Kings (9-1) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat ninth ranked Illawarra Hawks (2-8) in Sydney 92-87. Kings shot 28 for 39 from the free-throw line, while Illawarra Hawks only scored eleven points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was American forward JaeSean Tate (193-95, college: Ohio St.) who scored 24 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import point guard Casper Ware (178-90, college: LBSU) chipped in 21 points and 6 assists. Kings' coach Will Weaver allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international swingman Todd Blanchfield (200-91) produced 22 points and 6 rebounds and American guard LaMelo Ball (200-1) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Five Illawarra Hawks players scored in double figures. Kings have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record.
