Regular Season Round 9: Salerno - Roma Luiss 82-61

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Roma Luiss (5-4) were outleveled on the road by second ranked Salerno (8-1) 82-61 on Sunday. Salerno outrebounded Roma Luiss 41-27 including a 33-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Bosnian-Serbian power forward Njegos Visnjic (200-79) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Swingman Alessandro Poti (192-91) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Salerno players scored in double figures. Power forward Francesco Infante (202-92) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Marco Pasqualin (178-97) added 6 points and 6 assists in the effort for Roma Luiss. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Salerno keeps a position of B leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Roma Luiss keep the sixth place with four games lost. Salerno will face Matera (#4) on the road in the next round. Roma Luiss will play against Pozzuoli and hope to win that game.
