Regular Season Round 8: SE M. Phoenix - 36ers 91-103

Date: November 18, 2019
One of their biggest challengers Melbourne Phoenix (5-4) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Adelaide 36ers (4-5) with the biggest margin this round 103-91 on Monday night. Adelaide 36ers made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Adelaide 36ers had a 27-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Adelaide 36ers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. Worth to mention a quality performance of Ukrainian-American point guard Jerome Randle (175-87, college: California) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 4 assists and the former international swingman Anthony Drmic (198-92, college: Boise St.) who added 21 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. International swingman Mitch Creek (196-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard John Roberson (180-88, college: Texas Tech) scored 21 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Adelaide 36ers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Bullets. Loser Melbourne Phoenix keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Adelaide 36ers will face New Zealand Breakers (#8) in Auckland in the next round. Melbourne Phoenix will play at home against the league's leader Kings (#1) and hope to win that game.
