There was a minor upset in Charlotte where their close opponent Hornets (6-8) were rolled over by second ranked Raptors (9-4) 132-96 on Monday. Raptors dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Hornets' 36. Raptors forced 19 Hornets turnovers and outrebounded them 53-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 40 assists comparing to just 26 passes made by Hornets' players. Cameroonian forward Pascal Siakam (206-94, college: N.Mexico St.) fired 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. British forward OG Anunoby (201-97, college: Indiana) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Swingman Miles Bridges (201-98, college: Michigan St.) produced 13 points and 5 rebounds and forward Marvin Williams (206-86, college: UNC) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains second position with 9-4 record having just two points less than leader Milwaukee B. Loser Hornets dropped to the third place with eight games lost.
