Regular Season Round 8: Dafni - Anatolia 65-55

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 14th ranked Anatolia's (3-5) road loss to thirteenth ranked Dafni (3-4) in Athens 55-65 on Wednesday. Dafni outrebounded Anatolia 44-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. Forward Andreas Kanonidis (200-91) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Panagiotis Filippakos (203-94) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Dafni players scored in double figures. Guard Angelos Gatzias (192-94) replied with 13 points and 7 rebounds and center Ioannis Tozios (209-90) added 6 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Anatolia. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dafni have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Filippos Veroias. Anatolia lost third consecutive game. Anatolia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Dafni will face league's leader Charilaos TM in Mesolongi in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Anatolia will play at home against Amyntas D. (#16) and hope to win that game.
