Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked JuveCaserta (6-5) beat at home 10th ranked San Severo (4-7) 89-79 on Wednesday. JuveCaserta dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to San Severo's 28. Guard Marco Giuri (194-88) stepped up and scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American power forward Mike Carlson (206-91, college: Truman St.) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five JuveCaserta players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Marco Spanghero (186-91) with 16 points and 5 assists and American guard Tre Demps (188-93, college: Northwestern, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) scored 21 points. JuveCaserta moved-up to sixth place in A2. San Severo at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the thirteenth position with seven games lost. JuveCaserta will face Orzinuovi (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. San Severo will play against the league's leader Basket RAV and hope to win that game.
