No shocking result in a game when third ranked 76ers (9-5) beat 5th ranked Knicks (4-11) in New York City 109-104 on Wednesday. 76ers looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Knicks' players. Knicks were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Cameroonian center Joel Embiid (213-94, college: Kansas) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Australian point guard Ben Simmons (208-96, college: LSU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 13 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Marcus Morris (206-89, college: Kansas) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Julius Randle (206-94, college: Kentucky) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Knicks. Five 76ers and four Knicks players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. 76ers moved-up to second place, which they share with Dallas M. and Utah Jazz. Loser Knicks keep the fifth position with 11 games lost.
