Regular Season Round 8: KR - Njardvik 75-78

A very close game took place in Reykjavik between Njardvik and KR. Eighth ranked Njardvik (4-4) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked KR (5-3). Njardvik managed to escape with a 3-point win 78-75 on Thursday evening. KR trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 26-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 75-78 at the end of the game. Njardvik forced 21 KR turnovers. The winners were led by Croatian forward Mario Matasovic (203-93, college: Sacred Heart) who scored that evening 16 points and 9 rebounds and American point guard Chaz Williams (175-91, college: Umass, agency: Green Sports Management) supported him with 19 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Even 16 points and 9 rebounds by international forward Kristofer Acox (200-93, college: Furman) did not help to save the game for KR. American forward Michael Craion (195-89, college: ORU, agency: Inception Sports) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts. Njardvik have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Thor Thorl. Defending champion KR keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Haukar and IR. Njardvik will meet at home higher ranked Haukar (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. KR will play against Stjarnan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
