Regular Season Round 8: Fjolnir - Tindastoll 88-100

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Tindastoll (6-2) beat 11th ranked Fjolnir (1-7) in Reykjavik 100-88 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Tindastoll. Fjolnir was better in third quarter 29-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Slovenian forward Sinisa Bilic (202-89, agency: 011 Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 8 rebounds. Slovenian forward Jaka Brodnik (203-92, agency: PEPI SPORT) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American forward Victor Moses (201-89, college: Georgetown, KY) replied with 36 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and Hungarian-Serbian Srdjan Stojanovic (197-91) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Fjolnir. Five Tindastoll and four Fjolnir players scored in double figures. Tindastoll have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Keflavik and Stjarnan. Fjolnir lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with seven games lost. Tindastoll will face Thor Thorl (#8) in Thorlakshofn in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fjolnir will play on the road against the league's leader Keflavik and hope to win that game.
