Regular Season Round 32: Atlanta H. - Detroit P. 103-128
Date: November 22, 2019
Very significant was Pistons' (#5) 25-point road victory against their close opponent Hawks 128-103. Pistons forced 19 Hawks turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists. Pistons brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. The winners were led by center Andre Drummond (208-93, college: Connecticut) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds and forward Blake Griffin (208-89, college: Oklahoma) supported him with 24 points. Even 22 points, 6 assists and 4 steals by forward DeAndre Bembry (198-94, college: St.Joseph's, agency: Pensack Sports) did not help to save the game for Hawks. Guard DeAndre Hunter (201-97, college: Virginia) added 18 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pistons (5-10) moved-up to third place. Hawks lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Cleveland C. and New York K.. Pistons will play against league's leader Bucks in Milwaukee in the next day and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hawks will play on the road against the league's second-placed Raptors (#2) in Toronto and hope to get back on the winning track.
