Regular Season Round 32: Cleveland C. - Dallas M. 101-143
Date: November 22, 2019
Very significant was Mavericks' (#2, 10-5) victory against 4th ranked Cavaliers (4-11) 143-101. Mavericks dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Cavaliers' 50. They outrebounded Cavaliers 49-34 including a 39-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mavericks shot the lights out from three sinking 20 long-distance shots on high 54.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mavericks made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Slovenian guard Luka Doncic (201-99) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points, 7 rebounds and 14 assists and forward Justin Jackson (203-95, college: UNC) who added 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Guard Darius Garland (188-0, college: Vanderbilt) responded with 23 points and 4 assists and North Macedonian-Turkish forward Cedi Osman (204-95) scored 18 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mavericks have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 10-5 record behind leader Milwaukee B., which they share with Utah Jazz and Philadelphia 76. Cavaliers lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with 11 games lost. Mavericks will have a break next day. Cavaliers will play on the road against Trail Blazers (#5) in Portland and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
