Regular Season Round 9: Sibenik - Split 71-79

The biggest surprise of round 9 in Premijer Liga was guest Split's (6-3) road victory over 4th placed Sibenik (5-4) 79-71 on Friday evening. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Pavle Marcinkovic (197-89, agency: XL Basketball Agency) who scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Darko Bajo (209-99, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Split players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international swingman Toni Nakic (205-99, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded 18 points and Montenegrin Vladimir Dasic (207-88) added 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Split have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Sibenik at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Osijek. Split are looking forward to face bottom-ranked H.Analitica (#12) in Zagreb in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sibenik will play on the road against Alkar (#7) in Sinj and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
