Regular Season Round 9: Paulistano - Cearense 76-78

There was an upset in Sao Paulo where higher ranked Paulistano (6-4) was edged by fifteenth ranked SKY/Basquete (2-7) 78-76 on Friday. SKY/Basquete dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Paulistano's 22. American guard Rashaun McLemore (193-86, college: CSUN) stepped up and scored 28 points and 6 assists for the winners and guard Caue Freitas (192-88) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was center Dikembe Andre (206-99) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and American Dominique Coleman (198-88, college: Francis Marion) scored 20 points. Five Paulistano players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. SKY/Basquete maintains fifteenth place with 2-7 record. Loser Paulistano keeps the sixth position with four games lost. SKY/Basquete will face higher ranked Corinthians (#7) in Sao Paulo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
