The game in Selfoss was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Alftanes (3-5) played at the court of sixth ranked FSU (3-5). FSU defeated Alftanes 70-59. It looked good early as Alftanes took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then FSU had a 22-15 second period charge getting the lead and Alftanes were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 59-70. It was a good game for American forward Christian Cunningham (201-97, college: Jacksonville St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 20 rebounds. British forward Rhys Sundimalt (188) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four FSU players scored in double figures. FSU's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Sam Prescott (190-90, college: Mt.St.Mary's, agency: SDJ Sports) answered with 21 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Dui Jonsson (178-1) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Alftanes. FSU moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Alftanes. FSU's next round opponent will be higher ranked Breidablik (#3) in Kopavogur and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alftanes will play on the road against Skallagrimur in Borganes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
