Regular Season Round 10: Pogon RS - MKS DG 2 91-98

Rather predictable result in Ruda Slaska where third ranked MKS DG 2 (8-1) beat 6th ranked Pogon RS (5-4) 98-91 on Saturday. Strangely Pogon RS outrebounded MKS DG 2 46-32 including 31 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 55.2 percentage. Pogon RS was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Pawel Jurczynski (183-91) fired 39 points (!!!) for the winners. Dawid Boryka (188-97) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. MKS DG 2's coach Wojciech Wieczorek used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Pawel Mol (180-87) produced 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and center Tomasz Stankala (202-91) added 19 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four MKS DG 2 and five Pogon RS players scored in double figures. MKS DG 2 have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group C leader, which they share with Wisla Krakow and AZS AGH KR. Loser Pogon RS dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. MKS DG 2 will face league's leader Wisla Krakow at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pogon RS will play against AZS AWF Mick. (#4) in Katowice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
