Regular Season Round 10: Rivas - Tobarra 70-71

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Tobarra (4-6) edged on the road much higher ranked Rivas (8-2) 71-70 on Saturday. Czech power forward Jakub Kasa (203-92) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Samuel Barros (190-98) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American center Julien Sargent (211-91, college: Mobile, AL) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Alvaro Frutos (188-87) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Rivas' coach Juanjo Simon tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Tobarra moved-up to tenth place in Group B, which they share with Guadalajara and Tenerife Naut. Loser Rivas still keeps top position with two games lost. Tobarra will face league's leader Alcobendas at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Rivas will play against the league's second-placed Real Madrid II having rather not much hope for a victory.
