Regular Season Round 9: Milano - San Martino 73-60

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked San Martino (3-5) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Milano (2-6) 73-60 on Saturday. Milano forced 21 San Martino turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Elena Quaroni (170-98) who scored 17 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Croatian forward Karmen Cicic (183-94) chipped in 19 points. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Sara Toffolo (184-0) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and guard Francesca Pasa (172-0) added 14 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Milano maintains twelfth place in A2 with 2-6 record. Loser San Martino dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Milano will face higher ranked Carugate (#7) in Corugate in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
