There was no surprise in Kosice where 6th ranked Banska Bystrica (1-7) was defeated by third ranked Young Angels (6-4) 63-54. Young Angels outrebounded Banska Bystrica 43-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. Vanda Kozakova (188-98) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 8 rebounds. International Michaela Balazova (180-99) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Young Angels' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Lucia Striesova (180-97, college: RMU) replied with 13 points and 9 rebounds and Austrian point guard Laura van-Dalen (168-87) added 11 points in the effort for Banska Bystrica. Four Banska Bystrica players scored in double figures. Young Angels maintains third position with 6-4 record having four points less than leader MBK Ruzomb. Banska Bystrica lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. Young Angels will play against league's second-placed Piestanske C. in Piestany in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Banska Bystrica will play at home against Dubcek (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
