Very expected game when 12th ranked Larissa BC (1-7) lost at home to fifth ranked Ifestos (5-3) 63-58 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 63-58. Ifestos dominated on the defensive end, holding Larissa BC to just 7 points in second quarter. The winners were led by American point guard Jerry Smith (189-87, college: Louisville, agency: Slash Sports) who scored that evening 17 points and the other American import Sean Evans (203-88, college: St.John's) supported him with 11 points. Ifestos' coach Sotiris Manolopoulos used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 8 points and 13 rebounds by American power forward Terell Parks (205-91, college: W.Illinois) did not help to save the game for Larissa BC. Point guard Nontas Papantoniou (192-90) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Ifestos moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Lavrio. Larissa BC lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost. Ifestos will meet at home Ionikos Nikaias (#7) in the next round. Larissa BC will have a break next round.
