Regular Season Round 10: Adepla - Matenglish 63-59

Everything went according to plan in Plasencia where fifth ranked Adepla (4-3) beat 9th ranked Matenglish (1-8) 63-59 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Adepla outrebounded Matenglish 44-29 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 0 passes made by Matenglish's players. American power forward Ernest Maize (203-94, college: Philander Smith) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Senegalese Ibrahima Niang (190-92) chipped in 23 points during the contest. At the losing side Precious Uzamere responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and forward Jesus Moral (-92) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Adepla have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in Group D-B, which they share with Huelva. Matenglish lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with eight games lost. Adepla will face Torta del Casar (#8) in Caceres in the next round where they are favorite. Matenglish will play at home against Huelva and hope to win that game.
