Regular Season Round 9: Bankeryds - Helsingborg 82-80

Bankeryds' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after five consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Helsingborg (3-7) 82-80 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Helsingborg won fourth quarter 20-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bankeryds forced 22 Helsingborg turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Kristoffer Gronhage (188-92) nailed 21 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and forward Joel Rosengren (186-0) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Erik Joelsson (196-97) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 19 rebounds and forward Felix Carlsson (198-95, college: Monroe Coll.) added 16 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively for Helsingborg in the defeat. Four Bankeryds and five Helsingborg players scored in double figures. Bankeryds (1-5) left bottom position moving up to eighth place. It was Helsingborg's third loss in a row. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Bankeryds will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Helsingborg will play against Trelleborg (#9) and hope to secure a win.
