There was a minor upset in Portland where their close opponent Trail Blazers (5-12) were defeated by fifth ranked Cavaliers (5-11) 110-104 on Saturday. Cavaliers made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. Cavaliers outrebounded Trail Blazers 51-38 including a 43-32 advantage in defensive rebounds. Canadian forward Tristan Thompson (206-91, college: Texas) stepped up and scored 25 points and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners and American-Filipino guard Jordan Clarkson (196-92, college: Missouri) chipped in 28 points (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!). The best for the losing side was point guard Damian Lillard (190-90, college: Weber St.) with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and guard CJ McCollum (193-91, college: Lehigh) scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Trail Blazers' coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cavaliers moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Detroit P. Trail Blazers lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 12 games lost.
