Regular Season Round 10: AB Ancud - Quilicura 89-72

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked AB Ancud (2-7) defeated at home their close opponent Quilicura (0-7) 89-72 on Saturday. They outrebounded Quilicura 44-22 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American swingman Jovonni Shuler (195-87, college: SSU) had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Argentinian Lisandro Rasio (198-90, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in 20 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Shuler attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. Five AB Ancud players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Timothy Simmons (195-92, college: DBU, agency: Prestige Sports) responded with 26 points and American-Jamaican power forward Phil Henry (203-91, college: E.New Mexico) scored 17 points. AB Ancud maintains sixth position with 2-7 record which they share with defeated Quilicura. Loser Quilicura still closes the standings with seven games lost. AB Ancud will face higher ranked Puerto Montt (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
