Regular Season Round 20: Sendai 89ers - Tokyo Z 87-65

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Sendai 89ers as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Sendai 89ers smashed 5th ranked Tokyo Z at home 87-65. Sendai 89ers players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) who scored that evening 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: Inception Sports) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. Sendai 89ers' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 16 points and 6 rebounds by American forward Kyle Casey (201-90, college: Harvard) did not help to save the game for Tokyo Z. Nigerian-American center Nnanna Egwu (211-92, college: Illinois) added 12 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Tokyo Z at the other side keeps the fifth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Fukuoka R.. Tokyo Z will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Sendai 89ers will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Tokyo Z at home.
