Very important is a road loss of second ranked Artego Bydg. (8-2) against fifth ranked AZS Gorzow (7-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Artego Bydg. was defeated by AZS Gorzow in Gorzow Wlkp. 94-77. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Artego Bydg.. AZS Gorzow dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Artego Bydg.'s 36 and made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Artego Bydg. 45-25 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. AZS Gorzow players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Kahleah Copper (186-94, college: Rutgers) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists. Lithuanian forward Laura Juskaite (186-97) accounted for 23 points and 7 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) for the winning side. Five AZS Gorzow players scored in double figures. American-Puerto Rican point guard Jennifer ONeill (165-90, college: Kentucky, agency: LBM Management) came up with 23 points and 5 assists and Lithuanian power forward Laura Miskiniene (190-92) added 14 points and 10 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) respectively for Artego Bydg. in the defeat. AZS Gorzow have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with AZS UMCS and CCC Polkowice. Artego Bydg. at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. AZS Gorzow will play against Katarzynki (#10) in Torun in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Artego Bydg. will play at home against CCC Polkowice (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
